A Mind of Your Own is a safe space to openly discuss your child’s diagnosis/diagnoses/life experiences and unpack what that means for you and them we can offer validation of your experiences, offer practical strategies for your child and support in advocacy for your child.
WorkCover, DVA and Open Arms
We provide psychological assessment and therapy services for individuals accessing support through WorkCover, the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), and Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling.
We recognise that the effects of workplace injury, military service, trauma, chronic pain, and significant life events extend far beyond the original incident. They can impact emotional wellbeing, relationships, confidence, identity, daily functioning, and participation in work and community life. Our clinicians take a compassionate, evidence-informed, and neuroaffirming approach, working collaboratively with each person to understand their unique experiences and support meaningful recovery.
We have experience supporting clients presenting with a wide range of concerns, including:

Psychological injuries sustained in the workplace

Anxiety, depression, and adjustment difficulties

Trauma and post-traumatic stress

Burnout and chronic stress

Chronic pain and health-related adjustment
Neurodivergence, including situations where autism or ADHD may be contributing to workplace challenges or recovery
Emotional regulation, executive functioning, and returning to work following injury or illness.

WorkCover
We welcome referrals for clients with approved WorkCover claims. Our clinicians understand the complexities of psychological injury and work collaboratively with clients, treating practitioners, employers, rehabilitation providers, and case managers where appropriate to support recovery and return-to-work goals.
Services are provided in accordance with WorkCover approval and funding arrangements, and our administration team can assist with any questions regarding referrals or approvals.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
We provide services for eligible Department of Veterans' Affairs clients. We recognise the unique experiences of veterans and their families and strive to provide a respectful, supportive, and individualised service.
Eligible appointments can be billed directly to DVA where the appropriate referral and approvals are in place. If you are unsure about your eligibility or referral requirements, our team is happy to guide you through the process.


Open Arms
We are proud to support current and former Australian Defence Force personnel and their families through referrals from Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling.
Our clinicians provide a safe, collaborative, and trauma-informed space to explore the challenges that can arise following military service, including trauma, adjustment, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the ongoing impact of stress on daily life.
