Did you know that only 10-15 years ago Diana went along to a professional development seminar and it was believed then that ADHD is a childhood disorder that adults ‘grow out of’? 🤯 ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder = lifelong.
Around this same time, it was incredibly rare for a female to receive a diagnosis unless they were ‘throwing chairs around the room’ at school. Most female ADHDers we see are not the chair throwing type, rather ‘space cadets’ who were inattentively moving their way through school with minimal fuss but missed a lot, though some still did okay academically given they were smart enough.
In the end though, ADHDers should be able to have the opportunity to reach their potential, whether they need scaffolding, accommodations and/or medication. A Mind of Your Own is committed to decreasing barriers to individualised support and understanding for neurodivergent people.
We also offer a one hour pre-assessment appointment for ADHD for you to discuss your suspicions and for the clinician to administer some brief measures to assist you in deciding whether to pursue the comprehensive ADHD assessment (and the associated costs).
Please reach out for further information by submitting an enquiry.
There is more information on our Assessment page.
Tess has availability within the next month for ADHD assessments for adolescents (12 years+) and adults.
Diana is currently at capacity for ADHD assessments for 2025 and has a waitlist for 2026.
